Our Mission:
Through accessible performances, educational outreach, and other means, the Choir Next Door Foundation assists people in exploring vocal harmony and encourages them to make music for fun in their own communities.
Meet our team:
Charlie
Executive Director • Tenor
Charlie Ibsen holds a B.M. in Theory and Composition from Westminster Choir College, where he spent four years singing in as many different ensembles as he could. Along the way, he met many choir compatriots who went on to be great friends—including Michael, who lost a game of rock, paper, scissors and is thus listed second. Check Charlie out in further detail at www.charlieibsen.com.
Michael
Artistic Director • Tenor
Michael Martin is a recent graduate of Westminster Choir College, holding a B.M. in Music Education, and was inspired by his work in the VOCES8 Scholars program to start this group. He loves singing with friends, and now hates rock, paper, scissors.
Roy
Baritone
Roy DeMarco is a performer based outside of NYC who holds a B.M. in Music Education from Westminster Choir College, studying voice with Harold Evans and Mark Moliterno. Recently seen performing with the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir, Roy can be found in many ensembles all around the tri-state area except when he gets distracted taking pictures of birds and sports-betting on games of rock, paper, scissors.
Sam
Performance Coordinator • Bass
Sam Scheibe is a composer, conductor, and vocalist with a BMus from Westminster Choir College, a MMus from the University of Aberdeen, and an MMus from the Frost School of Music at the University of Miami. Sam is a long time lover of vocal harmony and is fascinated with combining the old with the new in choral singing. Sam always chooses rock. More info on Sam and his compositions can be found at samscheibe.com.
